Stinky but No Longer Itchy

Back home. Still a bit stinky but is wearing off now. Not sure what She put on my neck but am not itchy any more. Anywhere. A small token of thanks and affection is called for. Shall go hunt on the compost heap for something suitable.

Sticky

Dropped by last night to check if it all still smelt of flea spray. (And how.) But He grabbed me and She rubbed something sticky on the back of my neck. Couldn't quite reach to wash it off so now have patch of slightly rough fur. Why did They do it???

They Have Fleas

In spite of much cogitation cannot think of a way to get breakfast in bed. Shame.

She is aghast that we have fleas. (Except me.) Had Her ankle chewed yesterday and He got bitten in bed. Out came the spray. Whole house smells. And so does my lovely new bed. Am off to visit the neighbours until the smell goes.

Needs thought

Is wondering if I could convince Her to feed me in this superb new bed occasionally. So warm hanging over the radiator it is. Bliss. Organising breakfast in bed needs thinking about though - If I say am ill They will whisk me off to the vet again. No way. Need a different idea. Will stay in bed and cogitate.

Bliss in a Bed

Has a new bed. Hangs from the radiator and is made of sheepskin. Wow and wow again. Sometimes They are so kind. Has the washer/dryer totally beat for comfort and warmth and the radio speaker makes an ideal step so getting in is easy even for a kitty with slightly geriatric joints. (Must admit that since I was dripped on in the melting snow have felt quite stiff.)

Must go and check it out again. Bliss.

Poor Thought

The Thought did not work. Or only worked up to a point. A wet one:

Positioned Myself close to the bird table and waited. Was obviously indistinguishable from the surrounding garden as everyone twittered and ate quite happily for a while. But then it started to thaw just a little bit and I was dripped on from above. Many many times. Had decided to go back indoors and dry out when a big Fred arrived. Stupid creature. It should have looked where it was going and noticed me, but no - Nearly trod on me. Heavens, those birds are ugly eyeball to eyeball.

Went and slept on the towels in the washer/dryer to recover my composure.

Cold and A Thought

Is most Not Nice this morning. Cold and white with tiny patches of dark. Shall sleep in washer/dryer when She has finished with it.

One of the baby fishes jumped out into my paw yesterday. Now They have put a lid on the tank which is a nuisance because it means I can't drink from there any more. Shall have to return to the bathroom basin which leaks. Or even worse, the garden pond. (Really Bad Memories there.)

A Thought: If the world is coloured exactly like me today maybe it will offer camouflage round the pond or bird table...........

Central Heating

Bit chilly last night. Stayed in apart from one quick trip to the flower bed by the back door. She put bulbs in there last autumn - Most uncomfortable now they are growing.

The new washer/dryer is delightful. Much quieter than the old one and She leaves the door ajar after drying things. Lovely and warm inside it is.

Ah now. Such a time since I was last able to write.

Got bitten by CM (a neighbour) and have visited the vet far too many times for my liking. (Too many long needles. Or should I say, seegical nurdles?) But am now back and patrolling my patch to see what has been happening:

CM needs sorting.
YP needs sorting.
TB appears to have been sorted. (A sad and sorry beagle.)

Ally and Pally got blown away in the storms and had such fun eating someone's winter veg about half a mile away until someone noticed what was going on.

She and He have been washing and washing since He bought Her a new washer/drier last week. Don't know what it's doing for global warming but She is definitely a happy bunny and cooking delicious meals for Him. Which I have had the opportunity of trying out. Nice. Very.

Not Blooming

Is feeling rather tired and out of sorts today. Shall sleep by fire.

Aftermath

Boy, was our house a mess yesterday morning! Littered with plates, glasses, empty bottles. Bits of crumbs and things all over the carpet, none of which was edible. (Checked every one I did.) They were still asleep until very late. When They finally emerged She moaned at the chaos and held Her head while She drank 2 large mugs of strong coffee. He just grunted. Seemed clumsier than usual too. Put His feet on me twice and tripped over a F/ette.

Massive clear-up under way all afternoon so I went out to find the bits of turkey bones on the compost. Fox had got there first. Not much left. Noisy out there as well - Lots of bangs and shoutings from up the hill.

Came back inside and drank some of the baby fish water then upstairs to leave a fur ball on Her duvet. Slept on His side of the bed.

Now I Know

Now know what was going on. Last night the house was full of visitors. Men wearing swanky new sweaters they got for Christmas and ladies in posh frocks. Ate and drank all evening and then held hands and sang a song at midnight. (Why? Didn't understand that bit.) Then drank some more and He heated those mini Christmas puds and set fire to them. (Why? Didn't understand that bit either but everyone seemed to enjoy it.) Then they ate them all. (Why? again.)

Caroused until about 2am. He and She left all the stuff un-cleared up and went to bed. I tested the cheese nibbles (nice), the pate (even nicer), and a bit of mini pud I found behind the sofa (definitely not nice).
